How to tell us something is wrong, and what we do about it.

Report an error
Use the contact form, or email contact@goldrateindia.info if you prefer. Either way, tell us the page address and what looks wrong. If you are reporting a rate, the figure you expected and where you saw it helps a great deal. Your own email address is optional, though without it we cannot tell you what we found.
What we do
- Wrong rate. We check it against the source immediately. If our figure is wrong, we correct it and investigate why our automated checks did not catch it.
- Wrong fact in a guide. We verify against a primary source, the relevant rule, notification or standard, and correct it, updating the last-reviewed date.
- Something out of date. Tax rates, hallmarking rules and duties all change. Tell us and we will update it.
How we record it
A correction that changes the meaning of a page is noted on that page, saying what was wrong and when it was fixed. We do not quietly edit and pretend the error never happened. Small fixes, a typo or a broken link, are made without a note.
What we cannot do
We cannot tell you what a specific jeweller should charge you, value a specific piece, or mediate a dispute with a shop. We are not a valuer and not a regulator. For hallmarking complaints, the Bureau of Indian Standards is the right body.
