18 carat Gold Rate Today in India

Carried forward. IBJA PM rate for 9 Sept 2026.

18 carat (750) · per gram
₹11,511.50

18 carat, stamped 750 for 75% gold, is the standard for stone-set and diamond jewellery. The higher alloy content makes it hard enough to hold a setting securely, and it takes white and rose finishes that 22K cannot.

Common questions

Why is diamond jewellery usually 18K?
Because 22K is too soft to grip a stone reliably. The extra alloy in 18K gives the prongs the strength to hold a diamond over years of wear.
Does 18K gold have lower resale value?
Yes, proportionally. It contains 75% gold against 22K’s 91.6%, so its metal value per gram is lower. Resale is on the metal, not on the making charges you paid.
